PINO 3000
3 COUNTRIES, 3 WINEMAKERS = 1 WINE
With the PINO 3000, a strong yet elegant tri-country wine, we continue our Wein am Berg philosophy and therewith tickle even the most discerning of palates.
Together with the three top viniculturalists from the Austrian vineyard Paul Achs, the South Tyrolean St. Pauls winery and the German vineyard Dr. Heger, we created a wine composition with strong character, which gets to mature in oak barrels by the peak of Gaislachkogl under extraordinary conditions. A ‘radiant ruby garnet‘, which embodies wine where the power of the mountains reaches its brilliant climax.
At more then 3,048 m above sea level, our PINO 3000 develops its full refinement.
From idea to completion
WORLDWIDE UNIQUE WINE ENJOYMENT
For twenty years, the five-star hotel Das Central in Austria has been inviting wine connoisseurs from across the world to the exclusive WEIN AM BERG event. “Wine makers, connoisseurs and journalists keep on confirming that wine tastes much better here above 3,000 m altitude,” says host Angelika Falkner. An idea has been developing for many years to allow a wine to mature in wooden casks at over 3,000 metres up in the Ötztal mountains. Three of the very best wine makers are involved in the lusty yet elegant composition PINO 3000.

The PINO 3000 winegrowers
MARRIAGE OF THE BEST WINERIES
Italy Winery St. Pauls
This is undoubtedly one of the most scenic wine-growing areas in South Tyrol. In St. Pauls, the winery of the same name was founded way back in 1907. Protected by the Alps and enjoying more than 1,800 hours of sunshine, with warm days and cool nights during the ripening period, the diverse locations provide a wide range of premium, fully ripe crops of grapes.
Austria Wine estate Paul Achs
On a picturesque 22 hectares, the Paul Achs vineyard grows primarily premium red varieties, yielding an excellent Pinot Noir. This demanding variety grows where the lime content in the soil provides the best feeding ground for this wine, which has made this vineyard famous with its exquisite Burgundy qualities.
Germany Wine estate Dr. Heger
For decades, the Dr. Heger vineyard has stood for first-rate premium wines from very special locations: by the Ihringer Winklerberg and at the Achkarrer Schlossberg, those wines considered as the exclusive top wines of Germany are grown. Joachim Heger was named “Winegrower of the year 2013“ by Gault Millau and Eichelmann.

The storing
The PINO 3000 – one of a kind in the world, highest exclusivity & unparalleled enjoyment. A wine with long storing potential. Two small Barrique barrels each of the best Pinot Noirs from the three wineries are combined in South Tyrol, and then embark on the journey to Sölden, into the purpose-built vault on the Gaislachkogl.
At 3,048 m above sea level at the ice Q in Sölden, the PINO 3000 matures in consistently cold temperatures, unaffected by the seasons. Thanks to the change in oxygen content and the low atmospheric pressure, significantly more fruitiness and freshness can develop.

RATINGS BY FALSTAFF & VINUM
